Mobile: camera and photo upload

Take a photo with the camera or pick from the gallery in the mobile app and send it for analysis in chat or project reports.

Updated 5 June 2026

In the mobile app you can take a photo straight from the camera or pick an image from your gallery and send it for analysis — without leaving the app. It is the fastest way to bring a façade, a drawing or a document into a chat so the agents can look at it. The feature is native and only available in the Arcili app on iOS and Android.

1Find the camera button

The camera button only appears in the app. Open a conversation via Chats and look at the action row at the bottom next to the input field. Here you'll find two buttons side by side:

Input field

Ask the agent… Take photo · Attach file · Send message

  • Take photo — opens the camera or gallery.
  • Attach file — picks a file from the device (image or PDF).
Note

The camera button is only visible in the native app. In the browser, use Attach file instead.

When you tap Take photo, the app asks what you want to do:

Choose image

Take photo · :chip[Choose from photos}

  • Take photo — opens the camera so you can photograph a building, a drawing or a document.
  • Choose from photos — picks an existing image from your gallery.

The image is compressed and prepared locally on the device before it is attached to the conversation.

Important

The first time, iOS or Android asks for permission to use the camera and photo library. If you decline, the app cannot open the camera — grant the permission in your device settings and try again.

3Send the image for analysis

Once the image is selected, a small preview appears above the input field. Add a question next to it if you like — for example "What does this façade show?" — and tap Send message.

The agent reads the image with vision and replies in the thread. You can remove the preview again if you change your mind before sending.

Tip

You can also paste an image directly from the clipboard into the input field — handy if you just took a screenshot.

4Photos for project reports

In Projektudvikling the same camera is used to fill the image slots in the report. Under Report images, tap an empty slot to take a photo straight into the site plan or a façade illustration.

  • Empty slot → Take photo
  • Slot with an image → Take new photo (replaces it)
  • Site plan slot → Generate site plan

That's how you document the construction site or a reference on location, and the image lands directly in the finished report.
