Create and manage a data room
Create a data room, give it a name and description, and manage it from settings: rename, adjust security and downloads, archive or reactivate. You can have up to 3 active data rooms.
A data room is a secure room where you share documents with external parties — buyers, advisors and others — with full visibility into who sees what. Here you create a room and manage it through the whole process.
Data room is an add-on module Data room. Without the module a locked add-on page is shown instead of the list.
1Create a data room
Open Data room and click Create data room. The dialog has two fields:
- 1Name — e.g. "Sale of Strandvejen 114"
- 2Description (optional) — short description of the purpose
Click Create. The room is created and you are taken straight into it.
You can have up to 3 active data rooms. If the limit is reached, archive a room or contact Arcili to raise the limit — archived rooms don't count.
2Find your way around the room
A data room is split into tabs. Which ones appear depends on the room's settings and content:
The Sharing & participants and Activity tabs are visible only to you as owners — not to guests.
3Manage the room from settings
Open the settings menu at the top of the room (). From here you control the whole room — per-participant settings are set under Sharing & participants.
Rename — give the room a new name Content & downloads — allow downloads and combined zip download Security — require terms acceptance (NDA), watermark, index numbering and more Questions & answers — turn on Q&A and private threads
Use Rename if the deal changes name — it doesn't affect guests' access or links.
4Archive or reactivate
When a deal is finished, you can archive the room under . Participants keep view access, but uploading and sharing is disabled, and the room no longer counts towards your data room limit.
An archived room is read-only and shows a banner. You can always reactivate it again under .
Archiving deletes nothing. Permanently deleting an archived room is handled separately under cleanup and GDPR in settings.
