Smart search: from address to CVR
Global search picks the most relevant result type from your input — BFE numbers lift parcels, CVR numbers lift companies, names lift people, and floor hints lift condominium units. Every type still shows; only the order changes.
Global search reads your input and decides which result type is most relevant — you never have to pick a category first. Type a BFE number, a CVR number, an address or a name, and the right results rise to the top. Every type still appears; only the order changes.
1Open search
Click Search at the top of the left sidebar, or press ⌘Z anywhere in the app to open the search panel.
Search address, parcel, CVR or owner...
The ⌘Z shortcut (Ctrl + Z on Windows) opens and closes the search panel. Press ESC to dismiss it.
Search hits the server once you've typed at least 3 characters. Results are grouped by type, and each group shows its count.
2Type a number — parcel or company
What the system prioritises depends on how many digits you type:
- A number with 7-9 digits is read as a BFE number, and Properties is prioritised at the top.
- A number with 4-8 digits is read as a CVR number, and Companies is prioritised. With exactly 8 digits an exact CVR lookup is made.
An 8-digit number matches the CVR pattern and can also look like a BFE — so you'll typically see both company and property results. Check the group heading to see which type you've hit.
3Type a name — people and companies
Type at least 4 letters with no digits and it's read as a name. Then People is prioritised at the top, followed by Companies, and addresses last.
People — on top Companies — next Properties — last
So you can use the same field to look up an owner as to find a company — no need to switch modules first.
4Floor hints point to condominium units
Add a floor or door hint to an address and the priority shifts to Condominium units. The system recognises, among others:
- st (ground floor), kl (basement)
- tv (left), th (right), mf (centre)
- a number followed by sal or etage (e.g. "3. sal")
That puts the specific condominium unit on top instead of the whole building's address.
5Every type shows — only the order changes
Prioritisation never hides results; it simply lifts the most likely type up. Results are grouped into fixed display groups:
Within each group the first results show, and the rest expand with Show more. Click a result to open the property, company or person directly.
Search is forgiving: case, æ/ø/aa transliteration and small typos won't break it. You don't have to match the name exactly.
