Thinking Modes: choosing response speed

The three response modes — Fast, Standard, and Thinking — and when to use each. Choose via the mode button in the input field; the choice is saved per conversation.

Updated 5 June 2026

When you chat with the Arcili assistant or a specialist agent, you decide how much time the AI spends on your answer. There are three response modes — from a lightning-fast lookup to a deep analysis — so you can balance speed against thoroughness for the task at hand. Your choice is saved on the conversation, so you don't have to pick again every time.

1How to choose a response mode

The mode selector sits in the input field, right next to where you type. Click the mode button to open the Choose response type menu and pick the mode that fits your question.

Fast Standard Thinking

Note

The button shows the active mode with an icon. On narrow screens only the icon is shown — the text collapses, but the menu works the same on mobile and desktop.

2The three modes

Choose based on how complex the question is:

Fast

Quick answer for simple lookups
Standard

Balanced — recommended default
Thinking

Deep analysis for complex requirements

Fast

A quick answer, good for simple lookups — for example looking up one address, finding a CVR number, or asking a quick clarifying question. Pick this when you just want a fast answer.

Standard

A balanced answer with good references. This is the recommended starting point and the mode a new conversation begins in. It suits the vast majority of questions where you want both speed and reasonable depth.

Thinking

Takes extra time to reason about complex requirements. Choose this for multi-step analysis — for example weighing planning data, economics, and market figures together, or assessing a development scenario. While the assistant works in this mode you'll see a Thinking… indicator until the answer starts to stream in.

Tip

Start in Standard. Switch to Thinking when the answer needs to weigh several factors against each other, or to Fast when you just need to look one thing up.

3Your choice is saved per conversation

The selected mode is tied to the current conversation. When you reopen the conversation from history, Arcili remembers your mode — you don't have to choose again.

  • Start a New conversation to pick a fresh mode for a new topic.
  • If you change mode mid-conversation, it applies from the next message.
  • Each conversation keeps its own mode — a quick lookup chat and a deep analysis can run side by side.

4Where it works

Response modes are available both in the general assistant and with the specialist agents:

AssistantSpecialist agents
  • Assistent — your general assistant for properties, companies, and people.
  • The specialist agents (BR18, Planlov, Moms, and Udvikling) on Chat have the same mode selector in the input field.
Important

The mode choice only changes how thoroughly you get answered — not which data the assistant can access. All modes use the same public registers (building data, CVR, land registration, planning data, and more).
