Mobile: location services and GPS
Use your device's GPS to show your position on the map and find parcels around you. Grant location permission, tap Show my location, and understand the web fallback and error messages.
Arcili can use your device's GPS to show where you are on the map and find parcels around you. On the mobile app this runs through the device's native location services; in the browser, Arcili uses the browser's built-in geolocation. Location is only used while you actively use the app — it never tracks you in the background.
1Grant the app access to your location
The first time you ask for your position, the device prompts for permission. Choose Allow while using the app (or the equivalent option in your browser).
Permission — While using the app Deny Used for — show your position · find nearby parcels
Arcili only requests location while the app is in use. We do not track you in the background, and your position is not saved to your profile.
If you decline by mistake, you can re-enable the permission at any time in your device's system settings under Arcili.
2Find your position on the map
Open Kort and tap the locate button in the map's control panel:
Show my location
Arcili reads your current GPS position and zooms the map in on you, so you can see parcels, buildings and map layers right where you are standing — for example out on a plot or in front of a property.
If you are physically standing on a plot you are investigating, use Show my location and then tap the parcel directly to open the property details for exactly that spot.
3When the location can't be fetched
If Arcili can't get a position — typically because permission was denied, GPS is off, or the signal is weak indoors — you'll see a short message:
Could not find your location
In that case, check that location services are enabled on the device, that Arcili has permission, and that you have a clear view of the sky. Then try the button again.
4Mobile and browser use the same button
The feature works in both the mobile app and the browser — only the engine behind it differs:
On the mobile app you get the most accurate position from the device's GPS. In the browser, accuracy depends on whether you are on Wi-Fi or mobile data. In both cases the location is used only for the action itself — it's fetched fresh each time you tap the button.
