Accept a shared document
How to accept when someone shares a single document — floor plan, spreadsheet or presentation — with you: open the link, log in with the right email, and get sent straight to the file with the assigned role.
When a colleague shares a single document with you — a floor plan, a spreadsheet or a presentation — you receive a personal link by email. The link gives you access to exactly that one file with the role the sender chose, without making you a member of the entire team. Here's the full flow from link to opened document.
1Click the share link from your email
Open the email with the share and click the link. It takes you to the You're invited page, where Arcili first validates the link. While that happens, you see Validating invitation….
Once the link is valid, the page shows a card with the file itself:
[File name] — [your email address] Læser
At the top you see who shared the file and what type it is, e.g. [sender] has shared a document with you. The file type appears as Document, Spreadsheet or Presentation depending on what was shared.
The badge on the file card shows your role: Læser (can view), Kommentator (can view and comment), Redaktør (can edit) or Ejer. The role is chosen by the sender.
2Log in or create an account
What you do next depends on whether you're already logged in.
You're not logged in
Below the file card it says Log in with [your email address] to accept. Click Log in. You're sent to the login page and returned automatically to the share page once you've logged in.
Log in with exactly the email the share was sent to. Access is tied to that address — if you log in with a different account, you can't accept.
You're logged in with the right account
When your account matches the invited email, the Accept and open button appears directly. Continue to step 3.
3Wrong account — log out and try again
If you're logged in with a different email than the one the share was sent to, the page shows a warning:
You're logged in as [your current email]
The invitation was sent to [recipient email]. Log out and log in with the correct account.
Click Log out, then log in with the email the share was sent to and open the link again.
4Accept and open the document
Click Accept and open. The button briefly changes to Accepting…, and Arcili confirms with the message You've been granted access as [role].
You're then sent straight to the document itself — not to the team's full workspace. A shared document only grants access to that one file.
If the link can't be opened, you see Invitation cannot be opened. This typically happens if the link has already been used, has been revoked, or has expired. At the bottom of the page the date is shown under The invitation expires [date]. Click Go to login and ask the sender to send a new one.
