The map won’t load (WebGL)
The map needs WebGL and hardware acceleration. How to fix loading issues: update the browser, enable acceleration, and turn off heavy layers.
Arcili’s map is drawn with WebGL — the technology the browser uses for hardware-accelerated graphics. If the map won’t load, or you see a WebGL error, it’s almost always browser- or graphics-related. Here’s how to fix it.
1Update to a modern browser
WebGL needs an up-to-date browser. Use the latest version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox, and reload the page.
2Enable hardware acceleration
If graphics/hardware acceleration is disabled in the browser, WebGL can fail. Turn it on in the browser settings and restart the browser.
3Turn off heavy layers
If the map loads slowly, turn off the map layers you’re not using. Many active layers — and especially 3D — use more GPU than a single 2D map.
Tiles are cached after the first load, so the map gets faster the more you use an area. Zoom in before measuring and drawing for precision and lower load.
